Stine Carlé wins TEDxAmsterdamWomen Startup Award 2019
Stine was amongst the three finalists who delivered their personal TEDtalk on the illustrious TEDxAmsterdamWomen stage. Stine pitched our startup, AMMP Technologies, and reiterated that, “Electricity is a basic necessity in life – not a luxury.”
TEDxAmsterdamWomen is an annual conference that provides a platform for women to showcase ideas and instil inspiration. This year was the 10th anniversary of the event and the core theme, The State of Mind, reflected the greater goal of creating an environment where there is no gender bias.
AMMP Technologies works with off-grid energy companies to help advance their operational and commercial objectives. AMMP was originally built as a solution for operating smart renewable mini-grids, serving customers in previously unelectrified rural areas of Sub-Saharan Africa. While that remains our core focus, we increasingly also serve operators of renewable/hybrid energy systems for commercial and industrial users in these markets and have expanded our presence to South America and South-East Asia.
AMMP applies modern and flexible software architecture to the development of our platform that allows for rapid onboarding of new customers and systems. We currently have seven companies using our platform, with over 300 energy systems on the platform. The systems are located in Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Kenya, Myanmar Australia, and Columbia.
TEDxAmsterdamWomen has been a popular and important conference for Dutch startups. The Startup Award involved three rounds of rigorous selection process which began with 25 candidates, of which 11 candidates made it to the second round and eventually 3 finalists made it to the final round. In the end, Stine Bundgaard Carlé, Co-Founder & CCO at AMMP Technologies was declared the winner of the Startup Award.
In addition to the Startup Award, Stine was awarded:
- A business class return ticket to Hong Kong to attend the StartmeupHK Festival
- A personalised meeting programme by InvestHK
- One-on-one financial coach from ABN AMRO
- One year of executive coaching
This incredible opportunity and wide-ranging access to mentorship would allow AMMP to grow further.
